Bài giải mẫu 7.0+ Task 2 Writing - Cambridge IELTS 16. Manufactured food.
Many manufactured food and drink products contain high levels of sugar, which causes many health problems. Sugary products should be made more expensive to encourage people to consume less sugar.
Do you agree or disagree?
One of the most significant issues facing society today is the use of processed foods rich in sugar, which may result in major health concerns. However, I disagree that we should increase the price of confectionery in order to persuade people to consume less sugar.
To begin with, meals containing sugar are a necessary component of each person's daily dietary requirements. That is, the human body needs sugar to generate energy and keep the neurological system operating properly. In fact, to function efficiently, the brain requires around 130 grams of glucose every day. Without sufficient sugar, the body might becomes fatigued, resulting in low-quality performance. Thus, increased pricing for sugar-containing items may make it more difficult for consumers to get and provide their bodies with the sugar they require.
Moreover, the rise in the price of sugary foods and beverages would have a severe effect on many individuals who are already struggling financially. Impoverished people, for instance, might be unable to afford food such as bread and dairy goods or other vital items, which often contain a high amount of sugar, if they were to increase in price. This could result in death or criminal activity for survival needs. Clearly, increasing the price of sugary products can lead to devastating results.
In conclusion, increasing the price of carbohydrate food to urge individuals to limit their daily sugar intake would exacerbate and even complicate already existing health conditions, as well as have a detrimental effect on the impoverished working class. Rather than that, we should educate consumers about the dangers of excessive sugar consumption. For those reasons, I strongly opposed the idea of raising the price of sugar-sweetened products.
