IELTS 7.5 - SPEAKING PART 1 / WEEKEND

Vocabulary trong Speaking NÊN là những từ vựng hàng ngày, đừng lạm dụng từ academic. Những câu hỏi Speaking là informal, câu trả lời của bạn vì vậy cũng nên phù hợp. Mình thấy nhiều bạn dùng những từ "big" và academic để show off và điều này là không cần thiết. Speaking là phần thi đánh giá khả năng nói tự nhiên, không phải test từ vựng của bạn. Bạn có xài những từ như "assist", "purchase" hay "utilize" để nói chuyện với bạn bè không? Tất nhiên là không. 

Trong những ví dụ của mình dưới đây mình hoàn toàn có thể dùng những từ như: unite, attend, perform nhưng  thay vào đó mình sẽ dùng connect, checking out hay play để MORE FLUENT & NATURAL.

Một chú ý nữa là phần ngữ pháp cũng vậy, HTĐ - QKĐ - TLĐ - HTHT là quá đủ. Idioms cũng được nhưng hãy chắc là bạn dùng chúng không quá "áp đặt". Và cũng không cần thiết phải sử dụng nhiều linking words.

What do you usually do on weekends?

To me, weekends are a time to relax. And I believe it applies to everyone else as well. On weekends, I often try to carve out some "me time" by getting all my work done by the end of Saturday, ensuring that I've no deadlines to meet on Sunday. I usually hang out with friends, watching one or two movies, or reading a book. It varies quite a lot from weekend to weekend.

Did you do anything special last weekend?

Actually, I did something out of the ordinary. Not especially, but my friend and I set up an online Go group to connect chess players in the city. Never done that before in my life, so it was a blast, literally. Now we can just sit at home and play chess on the computer without having to leave the house. What a convenience.

What do you plan to do next weekend?

I haven't entirely made up my mind yet, but there's an upcoming rock event that I'm planning on checking out. I'm really into hard rock music, and some iconic metal bands are gonna play there. There will also be a Q & A session after the show, I've already registered for an e-ticket, so I suppose I'm committed. Those types of events are always great and enjoyable.
