COMPLEX SENTENCES LÀ GÌ?

💮IELTS WRITING band 7.0+ yêu cầu thí sinh phải sử dụng được complex sentences...vậy complex sentences là gì?

Mình vào thẳng ví dụ cho nhanh gọn, dễ hiểu nhé:

🟥 SIMPLE SENTENCES (ONE INDEPENDENT CLAUSE)

-I like playing board games.
-The sun is hot. 

🟦 COMPOUND SENTENCES (2 OR MORE INDEPENDENT CLAUSES)

-I like shirts, but I prefer T-shirts.
-I like girls, and he likes boys. =]]

🟨 COMPLEX SENTENCES (1 INDEPENDENT CLAUSE + AT LEAST 1 DEPENDENT CLAUSE)

-Although it was raining, I walked to school.
-We play basketball when we're free at weekends.

🟩 COMPOUND-COMPLEX SENTENCES (AT LEAST 2 INDEPENDENT CLAUSES + 1 DEPENDENT CLAUSE)

-The boys did not think they'd arrived at school on time because it was so far away, and they were tired from running.
-The girls play volleyball if it's sunny, and sometimes they play tennis.  

Vậy, bạn có thể thấy, complex sentences không thực sự "phức tạp" như cái tên của nó. Chúng chẳng qua cũng chỉ là những câu mà ta thường dùng hàng ngày thôi. 😎
