BÀI MẪU 7.0+ IELTS TASK 2 - HISTORY

Learning about the past has no value for those of us living in the present.

Do you agree or disagree?

History studies enable us to observe and comprehend how people and societies behaved. Some believe that this is unnecessary and pointless. I disagree with that opinion, and this essay will show the reasons why it is important to learn lessons from the past.

Certain aspects of everyday life are made easier by inheriting great achievements from the old days. In other words, there are numerous modern technologies that have been successfully developed by researching inventions from the past. For instance, Thomas Edison's invention of light bulbs changed the world in many ways, from allowing activities to extend into the night to facilitating the creation of modern power grids as well as bringing other appliances into the home. Thus, by studying history, individuals, especially students, might learn how ideas and technology were developed, how they operated, and how they have changed. Without all of this information, most students hardly can develop into more well-rounded individuals who are better prepared to study in all of their academic fields.

Moreover, the value of learning the past's lessons goes far beyond just getting good grades in school as history also plays an important part in people's culture and identity. That is, studying history can provide people with not only an understanding of their own culture but also of those with which they might be less familiar. As a result,  allowing individuals to interact with a wider range of social groups as well as helping them feel more confident in themselves.

In conclusion, I completely disagree with the view that studying history is of little use to those who live in the present. As was mentioned, history not only provides people with great knowledge from the past, but also helps them form their attitude towards the future.  (292 words)
