WRITING 7.0+ / PARENTING CLASSES

Parents should take courses in parenting in order to improve  the lives of their children.

To what extent do you agree?

Parents are encouraged to enroll in training sessions to help them raise their children more effectively. I completely disagree since I think it is time-inefficient, costly and there are more effective ways to attain the same goals.

The main reason why I believe parenting courses are unnecessary is that they are a waste of time and money. In other words, instead of attending these lengthy and tedious seminars, parents should spend time interacting with their children after work. Having meaningful personal communication can help strengthen the family bond and also considerably increase the children's affection and appreciation for their parents. Moreover, for people on a shoestring budget, these parent workshops may be seen as a luxury. If they enroll, these hiked prices might put them in financial trouble.

In addition, there are more effective methods for fostering a child's growth that do not require parent coaching. Indeed, there are many textbooks and articles that could easily be acquired on the internet that provide the same kind of knowledge about child-raising. Not to mention the numerous available TV programs in the same field, which are highly reliable. Another effective way is for parents to listen to their children as well as encourage them to express their feelings more frequently. This, I believe, is helpful because it will give youngsters greater confidence and a better sense of self.

In conclusion, I'm totally against parents' joining parenting programs. This is because it is time-wasting, expensive, and there are better ways to achieve similar results. Parents should be more direct in nurturing their children. (260 words)
