Around the world more and more people today are living in urban areas.

Why is this?
What problems does this cause?

Globally, an increasing number of people now live in metropolitan regions. Advantages such as a more varied work and lifestyle can be contributory to this tendency. There are, however, legitimate long-term concerns related to this rising migration. 

One  possible explanation for the surging urban population is work prospects. It can be said that where there are more people, there are often more jobs. Statistics also show that city residents usually find greater employment opportunities than those in the suburbs, which is why the majority of people choose to move to cities. New York, for example, is one of the largest cities in the US, offering professional opportunities in a wide array of industries across the board, which contributes to its high population density of over 19 million. Another potential reason for the urban population boom is its cosmopolitan lifestyle. Many people relocate to large cities like Tokyo or Shanghai, mostly to experience a melting pot of cultures via food and entertainment activities. 

Nevertheless, this influx of residents poses a number of challenges related to noise pollution and high crime rates. An increasing population usually leads to increased traffic in ride-sharing services and private vehicles, all of which contribute significantly to noise. Additionally, due to their high levels of economic inequality and living standards as a result of overcrowding, numerous urban areas tend to become more crime-prone, making life more dangerous. It is evident in Mexico City, one of the most violent cities on the planet, which is largely an effect of its dense population.

In conclusion, people are flocking to cities for career prospects and to enjoy their rich culture, which has inevitably resulted in noise and violent issues. Individuals must consider these factors before opting to abandon the suburbs for the bright lights of the metropolis. (297 words)
