WRITING 7.0+ // CAREER CHANGE

Some people believe that it is best to do the same type of work throughout your life. Others feel that it is beneficial to change jobs often.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

There is a disagreement over whether employees should remain in the same position for the long term or switch jobs frequently throughout their careers. I'm going to analyze this question from both of these perspectives in this essay and then offer my own view on the matter.

On the one hand, proponents of regular career change frequently stress its multiple benefits. They emphasize that when people change occupations, they will have the opportunity to progress. Individuals who have already learned a great deal at their previous job but were unable to advance, for example, might achieve that new altitude by shifting to a new organization with equivalent vacant positions. Additionally, the more often people change jobs, the more at ease they will feel during interviews, which will benefit them in negotiating a higher wage. In contrast, this can not happen if people are restricted to a single profession.

On the other hand, those who oppose job-hopping argue that when people begin a new job, they may sometimes be forced to start at the bottom due to a lack of expertise or awareness of other industries, significantly hindering their career prospects. Moreover, by changing professions constantly, workers risk losing their well-established network within their field, which they have worked so hard to cultivate. This can be detrimental since they will find it more difficult to seek and obtain the same level of effective support and assistance as before. Despite what might be expected, employees will also be less likely to make money if they land a job that pays much less, which may result in financial insecurity and serious mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression.

In conclusion, I believe both arguments have merit. On the whole, however, I think that people should avoid regularly changing jobs, as this can have a number of undesirable consequences. Individuals should therefore bear these factors in mind while making employment options. (318 words)
